1 WATER WELL BUILT. OCT / NOV 2013
Al-hamdulilah, on the blessed day of Friday, SRF launched the Water Wells project with the Congo Water Project. As part of our research to find reliable and trustworthy links to utilise 100% of your donations for the establishment of water wells, we came across a project in Congo that needed support. The project had already begun in early October to provide approximately 5000 needy people with clean drinking water. The nearest clean water to these people was kilometres away therefore they used to drink dirty water which resulted in many deaths. The project addressed the need for clean water which was a main concern in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo in the villages of Gizi, Baraka and Sangie. The war torn region was inhabited by underprivileged people and families mostly women and children who are victims of rape, widows whose husbands have been killed in the war, orphans and children. |

Lack of clean drinking water was a major concern in those villages because people die everyday of malaria, typhoid and cholera due to lack of clean water as they drink dirty water.
The water borehole was nearly complete, however, funds had finished and another $800 was required immediately to complete the project. Therefore SRF launched their 1st water project by raising this amount to send to Congo. Al-hamdulilah within 4 hours of releasing the news the target was raised and the funds were sent the same day!
