Project Description

Alhamdulillah, the water well in Cape Town (South Africa) for Al Noor Orphanage has been completed by the permission of Allaah. This high density capacity well was built in an area where there had been drought bringing about scarcity of water.Water was expensive and highly regulated.The orphanage were paying between 1200 to 1400 dollars a month just for water bills and because of the drought the prices had gone up and the orphanage couldn't afford it anymore as a result the water supply had been suspended.  SRF built a water well to provide clean water for the orphans and the surrounding communities who were previously getting sick from water that was contaminated and not treated. The poor in these communities and the orphans had no money to buy bottled water which was costing around 12 rands for 500ML.

The well, constructed in a secured land, will be monitored and controlled by the board of trustees of the orphanage, in sha Allah.
