Why do we specifically distribute the colour coded 'Tajweed' Qurans? Reciting the Qur'an correctly is very important as a small change in pronunciation can make a huge change to the meaning. A Tajweed Qur’an is a very beneficial aid that supports the reader to recite correctly. How does this qualify as Sadaqah Jariyah? With the correct intention and acceptance from Allah, for every letter that is recited from a Qur’an that you donated towards, you will get 10 good deeds every time it is recited even after your death. Imagine if someone reads the whole Qur’an once every year! |
Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever reads one letter from the Book of Allah will earn one good (hasanah) thereby. One good deed is equal to ten good deeds the like of it. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is a letter, but Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter and Meem is a letter.” [At-Tirmidhee]
